Before I came to the United Steelworkers, I was a member of AFSCME Local 2719 for six years. During my membership with them I was selected to serve on the Election Committee. I also served as an Employee Rep for the department in which I worked. I handled complaint and concerns from the staff and presented them to management for resolution. |

I have been a member of Local 3657 for nearly three years. Prior to my coming to the USW, I was a member of URW Local 302 at Rubbermaid in Wooster, Ohio for almost 26 years. During that time I served two, three-year terms as Trustee, 12 years as Union Steward and served as a Workers Comp. Representative. I also did casual organizing and attended organizer training through the AFL-CIO and AFSCME. I was also very active with my local Central-Labor-Council (CLC) where I served as a Local Union Representative for nine years, Treasurer of the council for six years and was elected as Delegate to state and national AFL-CIO Conventions. I enjoyed representing my brothers and sisters at Local 302. |

I have worked in the Strategic Campaigns Department since joining the USW Headquarters Staff in 2006. I joined the labor movement to get involved in working familiess struggles for social and economic justice. And while supporting USW members in taking on rogue corporations is what I love best, I believe that respect, fairness, and equality are essential in all workplaces, especially here at the International Union. In addition to my work with the Steelworkers, I am involved in several social justice organizations in the Pittsburgh area. |

This is the first LU office I have held since joining the USW some 35 years ago, so now I get to add a new chapter in my book of experience as I head down the road to retirement. As a member of our great Union, I have been privileged to work with wonderful, dedicated personnel at the International and District levels. I am proud of the labor movement and any part I may have contributed to its continued viability. |

During my 12 yrs. with the Steelworkers IIve been blessed to work with some really special people. I've never held an office prior to being asked to carry the torch when our Steward retired. And, I pray this opportunity proves to be a positive transition and a chance to help edify our District 2 members. The experience so far has been interesting. |

I had the honor of becoming a member of Local 3657 in 2004. I came from a Steelworker Plant (Magnequench) that closed and moved manufacturing to China in 2003. While at Magnequench I held Elected Offices of Unit Chair for Magnequench USW Local 1191-12 and as the Vice President of Amalgamated USW Local 1191 that had 18 Units at the time. While in those positions I attended many educational classes and programs for Local Union Officers including the International Leadership Scholarship Program at Linden Hall Level 1, 2 & 3. I look forward to representing our members in District 7, and first and foremost I am a Labor Activist no matter who the employer is. |

My involvement in Local Union 3657 began over 20 years ago when I became steward for the former District 9. To have the opportunity to help serve our members in the field is not only a privilege, it is an honor. |

The opportunities offered to me as a member of Local 3657 have not only enhanced the work I do servicing locals in my district but also has allowed me to work in other fields of work such as 3657 Trustee and Field Griever and also as a Women of Steel Field Coordinator and now 3657 Webmaster. |

It is satisfying to know that the job we do is providing a service, working to make a better future for our children and grandchildren. Working in a field office gives us a unique opportunity of getting to personally know the members and families in many of the locals we serve. |
